Slightly embarrassing action at work today: handed over pair of hand-knitted gloves to wrong person. (In mitigation, she was sitting in the chair of the person who was supposed to get them, she is also dark-haired, she also has a circulatory disorder, and she vaguely thought I might have promised to make her gloves and had forgotten about it. And I hadn't had my morning coffee yet.)

Gloves eventually got handed to the right person, and I have promised to make gloves for the mistaken first recipient as well.

I really do not have a good memory for faces.

(Oh, the gloves were the Fetching model, in Debbie Bliss alpaca silk, in a nice dark crimson.)

Although Rihanna’s initial single didn’t go far at Pop, her 180k bow topped her previous LP’s 153k, which wound up selling 2.5m. Brown’s first track didn’t cross to Pop, which factors into the 150k projection on his Dec. 8 album, compared to a 295k debut for his previous LP, which went on to sell 1.9m. Rihanna’s new “Hard” is taking off at radio, while Brown’s Pop-leaning “Crawl” is just getting started, as both labels play catch-up.

Justin Bieber Channels His Inner Eminem

Nothing goes better together than Justin Bieber and Eminem. Both with their deep roots in Detroit's hardscrabble neighborhoods and a shared bond forged through years of hard knows and discrimination against their gansta rap dreams. They're basically one in the same.

To celebrate the classic diddy "Lose Yourself" at his recent concert stop in Detroit, Baby Biebs attempted to put his sweet, soothing voice in his back pocket for a minute and paid homage to his 8 Mile rap hero.

He musta been proud too, because afterwards he tweeted, "last night in Detroit was nuts...had to pay respect to that guy from 8 mile. EMINEM is a beast," along with a link to the vid.

Hmmm...so, how did he do? Let's just say he should stick to what he does best: romancing tha ladies.

Music swells, lights flash and the contestants strut on to the stage, waving and blowing kisses. All wear high heels, bikinis and wide smiles.

It is another beauty pageant in Venezuela, a self-styled "beauty superpower" which worships physical perfection and has won the two most recent Miss Universe titles. But this show in Caracas is different. Even from the back of the theatre you noticesomething striking about the contestants. They are men. Large, chubby men.
